On March 8, 2025, Sunland Village East Pickleball Club held its annual Paddle Battle tournament, promoting club spirit among members. Two teams, The Big Shots (co-captained by Dave and Jude Hardes) and The Dinking Dynasty (co-captained by Jeff and Janine Nielsen), competed in six round-robin games for each player, earning points for wins, losses, and ties. Frank and Deb Carlson, who tirelessly organized the event, inspired nearly 80 members to join this fun competition.
The day began with the Village Singers performing the Canadian and USA National Anthems. The Dinking Dynasty emerged victorious after numerous matches. Special thanks to all volunteers, spectators, and participants for making the event a success. Frank and Deb Carlson, in their final year of leadership, encourage others to continue or create new events.
